Health Care Providers

Gilbert Plains offers excellent and personalized health care services. The modern Gilbert Plains Health Centre includes a personal care home and a medical clinic. The Personal Care Home includes 29 permanent beds and one respite bed, and offers activity programs, Adult Day Program, Community Bath Program and Meals on Wheels. Care home residents can also access occupational therapy and dietician services.
In the medical clinic, the Public Health Nurse is available every Wednesday and the Dauphin Medical Group offers clinic services 3 days a week which includes doctors' services. Lab and X-ray services are also available by appointment.

Education

Nursery School, Elementary School (K-8) and High School to Grade 12, Rec. Commission for a variety of special interest activities. Regional Library with free computer access.

Gilbert Plains Golf and Country Club

Centennial Park
Located in a valley on the west side of town, the Gilbert Plains Centennial Park is home to the golf course, as well as a picnic area, campgrounds, wading pool and playground. The park is situated on the gentle Valley River, suitable for swimming, rafting and canoeing.
In the winter, the park is popular with tobogganners and cross-country skiers.
Gilbert Plains is also near two very large park areas, the Riding Mountain National Park and the Duck Mountain Provincial Park. Both parks are within a 30 minute drive, and offer further opportunities for camping, hiking, skiing, boating and fishing.
